Orizon Aerostructures, LLC announces the opening a new facility in St. Louis

Kansas City, MO, February 15, 2018

The aerospace, defense and space exploration markets are experiencing unprecedented growth and the future outlook is extremely positive. In fact, commercial aircraft backlogs and production rates are at all-time highs, the new F-35 Lightning II is ramping to full rate production and private companies have entered the space exploration domain creating a new space race.

Rising production rates and the introduction of new aircraft programs create unique challenges for the industry. In response, Orizon Aerostructures, LLC is opening a new facility in the St. Louis area to reduce the risk of assembly line shut-downs and delays caused by part shortages. This facility will be dedicated to manufacturing complex machined components scrapped during the assembly process, Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) on development programs, spares for aircraft components no longer in production, components for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and prototypes for research and development programs.

The new facility will be led by Gary Appleton, Director of Product Development who will assemble a team of highly talented programmers, application engineers, machinist and quality engineers who have a long history in aerospace and defense. More importantly, they have developed unique processes to rapidly on-board complex components and deliver a quality product in hours/days versus weeks and months. “Gary and his team have a successful track record of engineering, programming, machining, and delivering complex machined components with world-class speed,” said Orizon President Henry Newell. “We are thrilled to have this team of highly skilled and talented individuals available to support our customers increasing need for fast, flexible and reliable turnaround times.”
